quick easy spaghetti sauce no meat

I didn’t have ground meat but I did have a small package of Italian sweet sausage so I just removed one from its casing and let it sear in the pot for a little extra flavor.

I think that tiny bit of lite soy sauce enhances the flavor.

They do not disappoint! An absolute winner! It’s so easy – saute bacon (optional) in IP (I use turkey bacon, maybe 4 strips), add 2 pounds brussels sprouts, 1 cup broth, 1 teaspoon brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper. I’ve been wanting to try your fave homemade version and just hadn’t gotten around to it, I decided to give this a go tonight and I’m never going back! I agree with all the others who have commented here…so delicious and easy too. Happily, brown sugar isn’t necessary! This will be my go to spaghetti sauce from now on.

Thanks!! You just need a tiny bit of sweetness to counteract the acidity. I’ve made probably close to 50 of your recipes and have not been disappointed once. Hundreds of you have made it and loved it and saved the recipe to your forever files. I actually let cook down on low for a really long time to caramelize a bit to add a little more flavor. Everything was delicious.

Worked out great! My boyfriend is not supposed to have too much tomato in his diet so instead of the stewed tomatoes I just add 1 cup of water for the liquid.
